
Manhattan Kayak Company (MKC) is New York City's premier kayak and stand-up paddle boarding school and tour service. (It's also where ThinkShout partner, Sean Larkin, first developed his own personal love for paddlesports.)
Up until this summer, MKC was stuck in an endless cycle of difficult content and tour schedule updates on a custom website built in PHP. As a result, MKC staff spent a significant amount of time struggling with its website, rather than investing that time getting more New Yorkers out on the water.
In redesigning the website, we helped streamline MKC's tour registration process by building a custom event sign-up tool with Drupal 7. Check out MKC's new tour finder and registration tool. Site visitors can query upcoming tours by difficulty level and destination. They can even bookmark their searches to stay on top of specific types of upcoming paddling opportunities.
On the backend, MKC staff can manage sign-ups for individual tours, query registrations by participants' name, email address and experience level. Staff can also manage tours in bulk, as well as upload spreadsheets of upcoming tours.
Simplifying MKC's online marketing and tour management workflow, we helped these water dawgs focus on their passion - introducing New Yorkers the the great opportunities that the Hudson River provides.
